Butter Chicken

Like any other foodie, I eat just about everything. With that, I wanted to share a recipe that I am kinda crazy about. You can find copies of this recipe all over Pinterest, this recipe is one my mom and I have mastered over the years. Not to sound full of ourselves, but this is the BEST butter chicken we have ever had! Before getting started on this bad boy, my recommendation is to make sure you have all the spices the recipe asks for. They are spices that you wouldn't normally find in your pantry, so be prepared. Once you have that you are ready to start!

What you'll need for the sauce:

  • 1 White Onion Chopped
  • 1 Can of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Garam Masala
  • Half of a 450 grm of butter
  • 500ml Whipping Cream
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Curry Paste
  • 1 tsp Paprika

For the chicken:

  • 4 Chicken Breasts
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black and White Pepper
  • 1tbsp Ginger - Minced
  • 3 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Curry Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 tbsp of Yogurt

Preparation:

Cut the chicken in big chunk and add dry ingredients first, then oil and yogurt. Mix well, let stand for 3 hrs. Broil in oven until tender (20 min).

Fry onion in oil, add salt, peppers, sugar, curry paste, and the rest of the dry ingredients. Add tomatoes, butter, let it melt. Add cream and bring to a boil, let stand and thicken. Add chicken and mix well. Once finished, pare with Nan bread and rice.
